Courtney Jordan, Esq., an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation, is a seasoned attorney bringing over 10 years of dynamic legal experience. Her practice is distinguished by a powerful combination of expertise in federal Indian law, tribal relations, complex civil litigation, and a significant depth in federal criminal defense, forged during four years as a federal prosecutor. With a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from Oklahoma State University, Courtney has consistently demonstrated legal excellence and a profound commitment to justice.
A cornerstone of Ms. Jordan’s experience is her impactful years serving as an Assistant United States Attorney. In this critical role, she handled a demanding caseload, prosecuting a wide array of complex federal criminal cases with a specialized focus on matters arising in Indian Country. Her exceptional work prosecuting serious crimes and dedication to justice in these communities earned her the prestigious Executive Office for United States Attorneys Director’s Award for Superior Performance in Indian Country. This invaluable prosecutorial background provides her with unique insights into federal law enforcement strategies and courtroom tactics, now leveraged for her defense clients.
Ms. Jordan's comprehensive legal acumen is further evidenced by her key roles as Assistant Solicitor General & Tribal Liaison, and Assistant Attorney General for the Cherokee Nation, where she addressed critical tribal governance and sovereignty issues. She has also served as a Legal Analyst and Director of Advocacy, showcasing her versatility in legal advocacy and policy development.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Jordan has contributed to academia as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tulsa College of Law, where she taught courses in the Master’s in Indian Law Program. Her teaching experience is complemented by her early career with Teach For America, where she made significant strides in improving educational outcomes for students in low socio-economic communities.
Ms. Jordan is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, the Eastern District of Oklahoma, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is dedicated to advancing the legal and policy interests of her diverse clients—whether Tribal Nations, businesses, or individuals confronting complex federal investigations and prosecutions—and fostering positive relationships with tribal, federal, state, and local entities.
